Hard work and good attitude.

I have always been taught to work hard and have a good attitude, whether it came from my parents, or at church or the people I associate with, it seems to be a reoccurring theme. Yet, no matter how many times they have told me I never thought about until today. Yes, I know all of you are gawking and saying I told you so, but I haven't not paid attention, I have applied it and done what you all have said:  but, I never really thought about why I do it.

So thank you for teaching me great principles and attributes.

I have known people who work hard with a bad attitude, whether it was at church school or in any other form, and have found they are not pleasant to be around, and even though you appreciate their work, you feel like you could have done with out the attitude. I have known the double negative, bad attitude and bad work ethic, and wonder to this day how those people will survive in life. Then there are the people with the good attitude and bad work ethic who to be frank drive me crazy. Last, I have known people who are the double positive, which are the people I remember the most. The ones where if I have to do something hard they are the ones I want by my side to get the job done.

So I have decided to be the double positive all the time, I know I work hard all the time but don't always have the best attitude So I  found a way to improve myself, and the atmosphere around me.... so here is to a new start and a better person!

Adventures in the "BiRd" Round 2!

So today was my third day off and you guessed it, I went on another adventure!
I jumped in the BiRd around 10:30 and no plans. I wore my swimsuit in case I saw an amazing beach, that was calling out at me to stop and layout! I grabbed a towel, sunscreen, my book, a snack, my shades and my ipod.
I was off for a great day!
I hadn't been to the north shore of the island, and with an inspirational text from my dad, finally had a destination, Hanalei Bay.
Since I don't own a map of the island, and have never been there, I felt super brave following a road that got really desolate soon after Kapaa! Its astounding how anyone just trucks-off into the unknown without a map, I for one don't recommend it, but then again, I  got very nervous when my phone GPS system couldn't find me and there were no other cars in site, and I was on a "highway. I guess its just not my cup of tea so to speak, the whole not having a map thing I mean. I love to go to new places, but I feel more comfortable when I know geographically where the location is I want to go. Here a are few pictures to help you understand my personal discomfort :D ...
First off, you cant se anything because all of the trees are this tall!

then you see this out your window, and you just want to stop and admire.

then the trees get bigger

and the views more elaborate

which means its time to get out and take a picture

then there are these mountains the have waterfalls down the center and all over

then after I conquered all of these mountains and trees, I reached my destination! Hanalei Bay!
of course being Kauai, there is a chicken on the beach,

a coconut,

 and me,

with my hair in my face, I know but the couple that took this picture for me had to go. So its all I got!
after, this I drove back into to the town of Hanalei, and grabbed some lunch and shave ice!

 yum!
I laid out, read my book and swam for 3 or so hours at the best beach yet! Then headed to a few others places which you will here about in the next blog entry sometime soon! for now, heres the last picture, me in the BiRd!

until next time!
